Saqib Mughal’s paintings show his deep concern over meaningful inner landscape where in the
darkness of the self, one is exploring the possibilities of an existentialist destiny.
The so called open doors and windows are escape routes perhaps but his girls seem to
hesitate to take first step to escape. His metaphysical aura indicates his search for
the unanswered
questions and thier inadequate answers.
There is a mood in his work
where darkness and lights mingle or clash exposing a social enigma
making the viewers
disturbed at times. His work is intuitively created and some have a haunting quality a
curious sense of inquisitiveness. He juxtaposes his figures rather
surrealistically
exploring familiarity with the unexpected. A girl is standing puzzled with her back
towards an open door. Has she entered to explore or was pushed with
a trap.
